Mist
Terms of Use
Last updated: May 10, 2026
These Terms govern use of Mist, a local-first macOS agent that can connect to user-authorized services and local tools. By installing or using Mist, you agree to these Terms.
Local software
Mist runs on your computer. You are responsible for the computer, accounts, credentials, files, memory folders, and connectors you configure. Mist may require access to local files, app automation permissions, OAuth permissions, and command line tools to perform requested tasks.
User-approved actions
Mist may present approval cards before actions that can send messages, edit files, create calendar events, install tools, deploy code, use external services, or otherwise affect another person, account, system, or service. You are responsible for reviewing and approving or rejecting those actions.
Connectors and third-party services
Mist can integrate with services such as Google, Apple apps, Exa, GitHub, Railway, Venice, and other local or online tools. Those services are provided by third parties and are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, quotas, and availability.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Mist to break the law, violate third-party rights, bypass access controls, attack systems, send spam, abuse APIs, or perform actions you are not authorized to perform.
No professional advice
Mist can help research, draft, summarize, code, and organize work, but outputs may be incomplete or wrong. Mist is not a substitute for legal, financial, medical, security, tax, or other professional advice.
Availability and updates
Mist is provided as downloadable desktop software and may change over time. Features, connectors, and model integrations may be added, changed, or removed. Updates may require reinstalling the app or approving new permissions.
Disclaimers
Mist is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. No guarantee is made that Mist will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every use case.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mist's operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of Mist.
Termination
You may stop using Mist at any time. You are responsible for revoking connector permissions and deleting local app data if you no longer want Mist to retain local settings, tokens, memory, or logs.
Changes
These Terms may be updated as Mist changes. The updated date at the top of the page will reflect the latest published version.
